Have you ever one day opened up your food case and found a ton of ants feasting on your favorite food? Ants are commonly found in the kitchen where there is sugary and greasy food. You can commonly find them creating a trail from a concrete wall with a slight crack. In this blog post, we discuss with Andy how to remove these ants.

1. Wipe your table after food

Food like bread can create bread crumbs that attracts ants over to your dining table to not only get the bread crumbs but also other open food that the ants are able to get and bring back to the nest. Thus its important to wipe off the table after food.

2. Follow the ant trail to its nest

Often time, the ant creates a trail to go back to its nest. Follow that trail and figure out where the ants are coming from. The main reason why we are following it is to ensure that our home has no nest. If there’s a nest, don’t remove them by flooding them. It will be harder to control. Call a professional pest control company to help you with its nest.

3. Take out your trash daily

Ants also forage in your trash can as there are crumbs of food and sugary item in the trash. (But please do take out your trash daily, it will not only attract ants, but cockroaches and many other pest as well).

4. Sweep and Mop Your Kitchen Floor

If there was a trail before, these ants leave pheromone trail behind so that they can find a way back to your kitchen and forage for food again. This is extremely important as you don’t want them to be back again for your food.

5. Food Containers

Finally, put your food in sealed containers that don’t leave any opening. One poor example of these containers is the common fragrance ba kwa container which has an opening and thus allowing the ants to enter the container and attack your favorite ba kwa.

All in all, please ensure that you have a clean kitchen, wash your dishes and take out your trash daily. Things that your mom will commonly remind you and thats why they say Mom’s are always right.
